The area still has pockets of greenery and open land, though new construction is filling these rapidly.
Konanakunte is one of Bengaluru's rapidly developing southern suburbs along Kanakapura Road. Until the 2010s, it was largely agricultural with scattered residential layouts. The name derives from the Kannada word for a small settlement. The area began transforming as Bengaluru's growth pushed southward along the Kanakapura Road corridor. The Green Line extension (Phase 2, Reach 4, opened January 2021) was a turning point — accelerating residential and commercial development significantly.
The metro has dramatically improved connectivity for Konanakunte residents. Before the Green Line extension, commuting to Majestic by bus took 60+ minutes in traffic. The metro now covers the same distance in approximately 30 minutes. This has made Kanakapura Road one of Bengaluru's most active residential corridors, with property development and commercial activity increasing steadily since 2021.

Exit A leads to Konanakunte Market (400m) for daily shopping. Exit B leads to the Saibaba Temple (500m, popular on Thursdays) and Vasanthapura Main Road (600m). Konanakunte Lake (800m) has a restored walking path for morning exercise.
Ride the Green Line north — Banashankari station is a few stops away. Alternatively, take an auto (₹40–60) or Bus 210 from the adjacent Konanakunte Cross Bus Stop, which runs to Majestic via Banashankari every 15 minutes.
