How Bangalore Metro Fares Work
Namma Metro fares are distance-based, ranging from ₹10 (up to 2 km / 2 stations) to ₹90 (above 25 km / 23+ stations). The same fare slabs apply across all three lines — Purple, Green, and Yellow — including journeys that involve an interchange.
- Token fare — the base price, paid with a contactless token at the station.
- Smart card / QR — 5% off during peak hours, 10% off during off-peak, Sundays, and national holidays.
- Interchanges — no extra charge. Your fare is based on total distance, not number of lines used.

How is Bangalore Metro fare calculated?
Fares depend on the distance between your boarding and destination stations, divided into 9 slabs from ₹10 to ₹90. The same fare applies across the Purple, Green and Yellow lines, including journeys with interchanges.
How much discount do you get with a smart card?
Smart card and QR ticket users get about 5% off during peak hours (8–11 AM, 5–8 PM weekdays) and around 10% off during off-peak hours, Sundays, and national holidays.
Is there an extra charge for interchanges?
No. Your fare is based on the total distance of your journey, regardless of how many lines you use. Changing at Majestic or RV Road does not add any surcharge.
