How to Book a Bangalore Metro Ticket on WhatsApp (Step by Step)

1. Save the number 8105556677 or just tap Book on WhatsApp above.
2. Send "Hi" and choose your language (English / ಕನ್ನಡ / हिंदी).
3. Select Buy QR Ticket, then your source and destination stations.
4. Choose the number of tickets and pay by UPI.
5. Receive the QR code in the chat and scan it at the entry and exit gates.

All Ways to Book a Bangalore Metro Ticket (Online & at the Station)

There are several ways to buy a Bangalore Metro ticket. Most let you book online without standing in a queue and issue a QR-code ticket you scan at the entry and exit gates; at the station you can also buy a paper token or QR ticket at the counter or a vending machine.

WhatsApp: The quickest option for most commuters. Chat with the official Namma Metro number, pick your stations, pay by UPI, and the QR ticket arrives in the same chat. Nothing to install.

Official Namma Metro app: Best if you travel often — buy QR tickets, recharge your smart card, and keep recent tickets in one place. Available for Android and iPhone.

ONDC partner apps: If you already use Rapido, Redbus, Namma Yatri, Tummoc or Paytm, you can book a Namma Metro QR ticket inside the app you have, thanks to BMRCL's ONDC integration.

Smart card: A rechargeable contactless card gives the best regular-use discount and the fastest tap-in. Top it up online and just tap at the gate.

At the station: Prefer not to book on your phone? Buy a paper token or a QR ticket at the counter or a ticket vending machine (TVM) at any Namma Metro station, or tap in with a smart card.

Bangalore Metro Ticket Types & Prices (2026)

Namma Metro offers four ticket types. Fares range from ₹10 to ₹90 per trip depending on the number of stations you travel.

Token (Paper Ticket)

A single-journey contactless token bought at the station counter or Ticket Vending Machine (TVM). You tap it at the entry gate and drop it at the exit gate. No discount — this is the base fare.

QR Ticket (Digital)

A QR-code ticket sent to your phone via WhatsApp, the Namma Metro app, or ONDC partner apps. You get about a 5% discount versus the token fare, skip the queue entirely, and scan the QR code at entry and exit gates. Valid on the day of purchase for the selected route.

Smart Card (Rechargeable)

A rechargeable contactless card available at station counters for ₹50 (non-refundable card fee, minimum ₹100 initial top-up). Offers the best regular-use discounts — about 5% during peak hours and 10% during off-peak, Sundays, and national holidays. Just tap at the gate — fastest boarding. Full smart card guide →

Unlimited Passes (1, 3 & 5 Day)

Since January 2026, BMRCL sells unlimited-travel QR passes on the official Namma Metro app — ₹250 for 1 day, ₹550 for 3 days and ₹850 for 5 days, valid for unlimited rides across all lines for the pass period. You buy it in the app and scan the QR at the gate. A day pass pays off once you make roughly three or more trips in a day; for fewer trips, a QR ticket or smart card is cheaper. Note that Namma Metro does not offer a conventional monthly or season pass — for regular daily commuting a rechargeable smart card is usually the cheapest option.
