How to Get a Namma Metro Smart Card
- Visit any metro station counter — all 86 stations sell smart cards and NCMC cards during operating hours (5:00 AM – 11:00 PM).
- Carry a valid ID — Aadhaar, PAN, voter ID, driving licence or passport.
- Pay ₹100 — ₹50 card fee (non-refundable) + ₹50 minimum initial top-up.
- Start riding — tap the card on the reader at the entry gate and again at the exit gate. The fare is deducted automatically.

Namma Metro Monthly Pass
BMRCL offers monthly passes for daily commuters. A pass gives you unlimited rides between two selected stations for 30 days.
How it works: The monthly pass is loaded onto your smart card. You choose a source and destination station, and the pass covers unlimited travel on that route (and all stations in between) for 30 days from the date of purchase.
- Pricing: Based on the distance between your two stations. Typically 30–40% cheaper than buying daily return tokens.
- Validity: 30 days from the date of activation.
- Where to buy: Any metro station counter. Carry your smart card and a valid ID.
- Break-even: If you commute 20+ days a month on the same route, a monthly pass is cheaper than even smart card single-journey fares.

NCMC — Bengaluru One Card
The National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) is a single prepaid card that works across all public transport in Bengaluru — metro and buses.
What the NCMC card covers
- Namma Metro — all 3 lines, 86 stations. Same fare discount as regular smart card.
- BMTC buses — accepted on 11,000+ buses since June 2026.
- Other NCMC-enabled systems across India (Delhi Metro, Mumbai Metro, etc.).
- Issued by: RBL Bank, available at all metro station counters and RBL Bank branches.
- Cost: Same as a regular smart card — ₹50 card fee + minimum ₹50 top-up.
- Recharge: At metro stations, online via the BMRCL portal, or through your bank’s app.
- Available since: March 2023 for metro; extended to BMTC buses in June 2026.
