The Purple Line is Bengaluru's east-west spine, running 42 km through the IT corridors of Whitefield, the commercial heart of MG Road and Brigade Road, and the western residential areas of Rajajinagar. It is the busiest line in the network. Key interchange with the Green Line at Majestic (Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station).

The Green Line connects the northern industrial belt (Peenya, Nagasandra) to the southern residential areas (Jayanagar, Banashankari, Silk Institute). It passes through Yeshwanthpur and connects to the Yellow Line at RV Road for trips to Electronic City. Nearest metro to the airport until the Blue Line opens.

The Yellow Line is Namma Metro's newest fully operational line, transforming the commute for the 300,000+ IT workers in the Electronic City corridor. It runs entirely elevated along Hosur Road at an average speed of 35 km/h. Change to the Green Line at RV Road for connections to Majestic, Yeshwanthpur and Nagasandra.

The Pink Line will be the city's central north-south spine, linking the south (Bannerghatta Road / Kalena Agrahara area) through Jayadeva Hospital, Dairy Circle, NIMHANS, Central College and into the northern localities. Speed trials (RDSO) were cleared in June 2026 at 90 km/h with no restrictions.

The Blue Line is the most anticipated addition to Namma Metro — direct rail access from the city to Kempegowda International Airport for the first time. Both lines were approved by the Union Cabinet in August 2024 as part of Namma Metro Phase 3 (44.65 km, 31 stations, ₹15,611 crore). PM Modi laid the foundation stone in August 2025. The Orange Line features a first-for-India double-decker viaduct along the western ORR. Target completion: May 2031.
