A quiet, well-established junction connecting two of Bengaluru's most cherished residential neighbourhoods — Jayanagar to the south and Basavanagudi to the west. Tree-lined roads, traditional eateries and proximity to Lalbagh give the area a distinctly old-Bengaluru feel, contrasting with the city's IT-driven eastern suburbs.
South End Circle sits at the junction where Jayanagar meets Basavanagudi, at the southern tip of the Lalbagh Botanical Garden perimeter. The circle has been a key landmark in south Bengaluru since the development of Jayanagar as a planned suburb in 1959. KR Road (Krishna Rajendra Road), which passes through here, is one of the city's oldest arterial roads connecting the Cantonment area to southern neighbourhoods. The area has long been a residential and cultural heartland of old Bengaluru.
The metro (opened 2017) improved connectivity without disrupting the area's residential character. Locals use it primarily for commuting to Majestic and the northern parts of the city. The station has made Lalbagh more accessible to visitors from across Bengaluru.
