Frequently asked questions

When will Tavarekere metro station open?

Tavarekere is on the elevated section of the Namma Metro Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere), whose inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was announced for November 13, 2026. CMRS safety clearance was announced on October 28, 2026. BMRCL has not yet published the timetable or confirmed when passenger service starts (one report, citing a metro official, says November 15, two days after the inauguration), so check the Pink Line page on opening day.

Does the Pink Line go beyond Tavarekere to MG Road?

Not yet. Tavarekere is the northern end of the elevated section opening in November 2026. The underground section from Dairy Circle through MG Road (the Purple Line interchange) to Nagawara is expected to open later, in 2027.

How do I get from Tavarekere to Electronic City, Silk Board or Majestic by metro?

From Tavarekere, ride the Pink Line one stop south to Jayadeva Hospital and change to the Yellow Line. Take the Yellow Line south for Central Silk Board and Electronic City, or north to RV Road, where you can change to the Green Line for Majestic (Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station) and the Purple Line.

What will the metro fare from Tavarekere be?

BMRCL has not announced separate Pink Line fares. Namma Metro fares are distance-based (revised February 9, 2025): ₹10 up to 2 km, ₹20 for 2–4 km, ₹30 for 4–6 km, ₹40 for 6–8 km and ₹50 for 8–10 km, with a discount on smart cards and QR tickets. The whole 7.5 km elevated section therefore falls in the ₹10–₹40 range, but treat these as estimates until BMRCL publishes Pink Line fares.
