Bannerghatta National Park by Metro

Nearest metro station: Kalena Agrahara, the southern end of the new Pink Line on Bannerghatta Road.

Status: the Pink Line's elevated section (Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere, 6 stations) is to be inaugurated on November 13, 2026 (announced). BMRCL has not yet confirmed when passenger trains start; one report says November 15.

Last leg: the park gate is further south in Bannerghatta village, so continue from the station by BMTC bus, auto or cab. The metro does not go to the gate.

Bannerghatta National Park, south of Bengaluru in Anekal taluk, is home to Bannerghatta Biological Park: the zoo, the safaris (including the leopard safari), the butterfly park (opened 2007) and an animal rescue centre. Until now the only public transport there was a long BMTC bus ride down Bannerghatta Road. The Pink Line runs along that same road, so from November 2026 you can ride the metro most of the way and skip the traffic on the city stretch.

Route by metro

Every metro route to the park ends at Kalena Agrahara. Most riders reach the Pink Line at Jayadeva Hospital, the Pink–Yellow interchange, then ride 4 stops south: Jayadeva Hospital → JP Nagar 4th Phase → IIMB → Hulimavu → Kalena Agrahara.
